The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Important Information

A serious dental emergency is defined as swelling, trauma to the head and neck region, uncontrolled bleeding, difficulty swallowing/breathing, or excruciating pain. Please note, there are NO afterhours emergency services on Fort Knox.

Walk-in Readiness Exams

Walk-in dental readiness exams are intended to address access to care issues, however, it is still the primary responsibility of the servicemember to proactively schedule readiness appointments prior to their exam expirations dates. It is highly advised to contact the dental clinic to schedule an exam at least 30 days prior to the annual exam due date. Due to high demand, exam slots are limited and are treated on a first-come, first-served basis. Prolonged wait times may be experienced.

NEW: Walk-in Wednesdays have moved to Building 2020 (SRP Site) and will be held in conjunction with MEDDAC’s Medical Readiness Clinics. All Army components are welcome to attend. Priority will be given to DRC4 patients. Exams will not be conducted from 1100-1200 (Lunch). Please note dates/times for special consideration:
  • SEPTEMBER: 17 (1200-1430)
  • OCTOBER: 1, 8, 15 (0730-1400)
  • NOVEMBER: 5, 12, 19 (0730-1400)
  • DECEMBER: 3, 10, 17 (0730-1400)

  • SEPTEMBER: 26
  • OCTOBER: 3, 17
  • NOVEMBER: 7, 14*, 21*

COMPO 2/3 not on activated orders may still receive dental readiness exams, which must be scheduled in advance. Service Members must be on activated orders for greater than 30 days to be eligible to receive routine dental care (cleanings, fillings, crowns, etc.). Treatment is not guaranteed and is dependent of activation period and Jordan Dental Clinic access to care availability.
